JESUS, THE GOOD SHEPHERD

A SYNOPTIC EXEGESIS

All of us are quite familiar with the title of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, but do we really know what Christ means when he tells us that he is such?  This website is designed to help Christians better understand the meaning of Christ as a shepherd, as drawn from the synoptic Gospels.  What did Jesus mean when he said he was a shepherd?  What were shepherds like in Biblical times?  How does the Church carry on the ministry of being a shepherd for Christ’s flock?

This webpage was designed as part of a project for the “Synoptic Gospels and Acts” class taught by Fr. Randy Soto at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary.  The page author is Michael Grosch, a seminarian studying for the priesthood at Kenrick School of Theology.
